The living room dressed for the holidays. Makawee grabbing center stage.

At the Louisiana house, Christmas decorating begins right after Thanksgiving in anticipation of the big annual party. This year’s theme for the formal living room became Treasures of the Earth when I discovered that the Black and White Raven paintings fit neatly at the bottom of my still-empty antique frame.

White Raven and Black Raven show off their gold and silver nuggets above a collection of crystals and semi-precious gemstones — the Treasures of the Earth.  A celebration of the beauty with which the Creator surrounds us.

The family room is always themed for Sedona and the Southwest.  This year I threw the more traditional poinsettias into the mix.

My dearest friend, Gerry, surprised me with the perfect cow skull ornaments, even though they would have been just as perfect on her very unique Arizona tree.  “That’s how much I love you,”  she said.

And last but not least — on the kitchen island — Louisiana Santa making do in the absence of reindeer in the state.

A very Merry Christmas, everyone!
